In some way, certain moments and sensations of our past have been waiting, refugees in the stretching sublime streets in the heart of Sevilla. Now, in the Santa Cruz neighbourhood, an authentic sanctuary has been reborn in an ancient Arabic bathhouse (Hamman) with Roman touches.
Aire de Sevilla is a refuge that portrays the history of ancestors who used the public bath as an art form for the senses.
Each person is called to be an architectural witness to the steps that each culture took before with the conserved vaults, stuccoed Mudejars, Roman seating, authentic lanterns, and clay works…corners that time has kept secret. Pieces of history that were left behind are renewed and magically connect the past to the immediate present.
Hamman: bath of thermal water. Recreation for the skin and spirit. Calm for the senses. The wisdom of civilizations one thousand five hundred years old is inherited through this delicate, infallible pleasure-a treasure appreciated and shared by both the Muslims and Romans.
In the seventeenth century, the last Arab bath of Sevilla disappeared…Aire de Sevilla has recovered it for you.
A walk among the alleys of the Santa Cruz neighbourhood provides a unique experience as we begin our journey toward the Aire de Sevilla-Arabic Baths.
We enter the sixteenth century palace that was built by an Indian viceroy, 1200 square meters, restored to their prior glory, where the Arab Baths were discovered.
Take in the fragrances of incense and natural essences that accompany us during the visit.
Aire de Sevilla offers the Arabic tradition of relaxation through water. The journey through presents us with large pools of water, dim lighting, Arabian tiles, and bronze lamps where you can experience a salt water bath, the Room of a Thousand Showers, and a Hamman.
The most interesting sensation can be found in the room of water with pools set to different temperatures: temperate (to 36˚), hot (to 40˚), and cold (to 16˚).
The hour and a half travel through the thermal bath is restricted to reduced groups so that overcrowding in the baths is avoided and every moment of intimacy can be enjoyed. We ask that our guests use soft voices to achieve the sensation of total peace. Aire de Sevilla provides all of the necessities including towels, special footwear, bathing suits…
